JBPacific is currently undertaking a Water Quality Management Plan on behalf of the Bellingen Shire Council. The plan will review existing water quality data, highlight water quality issues and hot spots, develop a water quality monitoring strategy that builds on existing monitoring undertaken in the catchment, and identify an implementation program for actions that will help ameliorate poor water quality exacerbated by catchment runoff. The project also aims to define draft water quality objectives based on community values. The drivers for this project are Council’s commitment to the community and ecologically sustainable development, together with their role in preparing a plan for the NSW Governments Coastal Management Program.
